Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Kuar Labs products and services, including kuar.codes and any associated APIs (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Kuar Labs ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Kuar provides a platform for generating, hosting, and managing dynamic QR codes. A dynamic QR code stores a short redirect URL under your control; you may change the destination URL at any time without reprinting or redistributing the physical or digital QR code. The Service tracks redirect events and scan analytics (timestamps, coarse geographic region derived from IP, user-agent device class) to provide you with usage insights. QR code assets — including generated SVG/PNG files — are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage on your behalf.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By clicking "Create account," completing the sign-up flow, or using the API with an API key, you represent that (a) you are at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction, (b) you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and (c) if you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you have the authority to bind that organization.

3. Accounts and Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and API keys. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@kuar.codes if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Point QR code redirects to malicious, deceptive, phishing, malware-distributing, or otherwise illegal destinations.
  • Distribute QR codes that violate applicable laws or infringe the intellectual property rights of third parties.
  • Abuse the redirect or API infrastructure — including automated high-volume requests designed to degrade service availability (DDoS, scraping at scale, etc.).
  • Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or billing enforcement mechanisms.
  • Facilitate spam, unsolicited commercial communications, or deceptive marketing campaigns.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with or without prior notice, depending on the severity of the violation.

5. Plans and Billing

Kuar offers a free tier (up to 5 dynamic codes) and paid Pro plans. Pro subscriptions are processed through Polar, our billing provider. By subscribing, you agree to Polar's terms of service. Subscription fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Refunds are handled at our discretion; contact hello@kuar.codes. We may update pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you upload or point your QR codes to. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, reproduce, and serve your QR code assets solely to operate the Service. The Kuar brand, software, and all original content on kuar.codes are owned by Kuar Labs and protected by copyright and trademark law.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, KUAR LABS AND ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. You may delete your account from the dashboard settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your QR codes will cease to redirect and your stored assets will be deleted within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kuar Labs is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
